Featuring Top 10 Aulisa Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

It’s only natural that parents and caregivers have questions about the functionality of our products. With that in mind, we have put together a list of the questions that are most frequently addressed to us via private messages or comments on social media, or via the contact form. Check them out below!

1. Why should I buy a Guardian Angel® system by Aulisa instead of a different monitor?

Our non-invasive solution is the only FDA–Cleared wireless monitoring and alarm system approved for infants, children and adults for in-home use, providing continuous measurements of the vital signs (oxygen saturation levels, temperature, and heart rate). Our Guardian Angel® systems have successfully gone through a lengthy reviewing process to prove how safe and effective they are.

2. How does the Guardian Angel® system work?

Aulisa’s vitals monitoring system measures oxygen saturation levels (SpO2) and pulse rate (PR) based on non-invasive light-emitting diode (LED) transmittance technology, measuring the absorbance of red and infrared light passed through the perfused tissue during each pulse. It can be operated by the caregiver or by the user (in the case of an adult).

3. What comes in the Aulisa Guardian Angel® Lite series box?

  • Guardian Angel® GA1001 Lite

Customers will receive 1 sensor module for an infant, 1 wireless charger for the sensor module, and free access to the Aulisa View app.

  • Guardian Angel® GA1000 Lite

Customers will receive 1 sensor module for a child or an adult (depending on selection), 1 wristband, 1 charger for the sensor module, and free access to the Aulisa View app.

4. Which age group is the Aulisa Guardian Angel® system for?

Our products are available for use by all age groups, therefore our Guardian Angel®s can watch over loved ones across generations. The GA1001 and GA1001 Lite systems feature a sensor module designed to be used with infants up to 22 pounds, while the GA1000 and GA2000 Lite series will include sensor modules for a child up 22 to 88 pounds or, respectively, an adult over 88 pounds.

5. Do the Aulisa Guardian Angel® systems work with twins/multiples?

Though our GA1001 and GA2001 lite systems include 2 sensor modules, they can only be paired with the display unit one at a time, not simultaneously. Each baby will need their own separate and complete system.

6. How long do the batteries last?

A fully charged battery will last at least 22 hours, and it will require approximately 3 hours to charge to a 100% battery level.

7. How are alarm limits determined?

Alarms have pre-set default limits, however, these are customizable to be appropriate for each person’s unique health condition. In the traditional alarm management system, upper and lower alarm limits are set so alarms are issued at specific SpO2 levels. When the SpO2 level fluctuates near an alarm limit, each breach will trigger an alarm. Our Guardian Angel® systems, however, monitor the gradient, the depth and the duration of SpO2 reduction as factors to determine the alarm triggering delay. This helps to distinguish between major clinical events and minor and brief SpO2 alarm limit violations that may trigger an alarm.

8. Does the app require a subscription plan?

The Aulisa Lite App is completely free with purchase and doesn’t require a download fee or a subscription plan. It can be downloaded from the Apple and Google stores.

9. How can the sensor module be cleaned and disinfected?

Cleaning: Clean the surface of the foot/finger sensor with a soft cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol. Lightly wipe the surface of the device.

Disinfection: Use a soft cloth saturated with a solution of 10% chlorine bleach in tap water, lightly wiping the surface of the device.

Do not pour or spray any liquids onto components, and do not allow any liquids to enter any openings in the device. Allow the unit to dry thoroughly before reuse.

10. Where is my personal information stored and/or processed?

Information collected through the Aulisa devices will be processed and/or stored on secure third-party cloud-based servers or through a Wi-Fi network. All of the information you share with us through the devices is double-encrypted during transmission using AES-128 data encryption as well as an Aulisa private encryption method
